If you're looking to launch your child's career in entertainment, you've probably heard that you need representation - an agent or a manager. If you're seeking a manager, here's how to find one.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Get headshots. You'll need a few recent headshots of your child that are professional looking. You don't necessarily need to pay a lot of money for headshots but they must stack up to what managers in Hollywood are used to seeing.

  2. Step 2

Create a resume that includes your child's experience, training and skills. If you don't have experience yet, focus on training and skills and include items like school plays, local fashion shows, church productions, etc.

  3. Step 3

Research managers in your area. You can use search engines to find managers in your area and then be sure to see what forums and other sites are saying about the reputability of a manager. Many reputable managers are members of the Talent Managers Association, for example.

  4. Step 4

Contact the managers you are interested in and be sure to attach your headshot and resume. Also, it is a good idea to let them know when you intend to be in the area so you can schedule a time to meet during that time.
