This will help a novice person check the tire pressure of any inflatable tire for a car, tractor, motorcycle, scooter, moped, atv, or trailer.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Tire pressure gauge
  • A free hand
  1. Step 1

Go in and grab your tire pressure gauge from your storage area. Then walk out and locate your tire you want to check. You need to find your valve stem. Look at the picture to the side.

  2. Step 2

Unscrew the cap to the valve stem. Carefully line up the tire pressure gauge and with a firm grip press down with the tire pressure gauge against the valve stem.

  3. Step 3

Next, the tire pressure gauge will give you a reading. We need to look at the gauge and it should have a number showing between 5-50 psi. We need to then inspect the side of the tire to see what the pressure is supposed to be. It should say the max psi is XX. We need to add air to the tire if the tire pressure reading is less than that amount. if it is more than that number we need to release air.
