This will help you change your own Scooter/Mopeds oil for only $3 or less. It will take you less than 5 minutes to do this.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 quart of Suggested motor oil
  • adjustable wrench or wrench set
  • Cool Whip container or low pan
  1. Step 1

Find where your oil dipstick is and unscrew it and remove it from the engine.

  2. Step 2

Next we need to locate the oil drain plug. If you take you fingers and run them down the side of the engine to the botttom, right below where you removed the dipstick from, you should feel a bolt. On most scooters it is square. Place the small cool whip container(or small pan) under that square plug.

  3. Step 3

Take your adjustable wrench and tighten it to the bolt and then start to unscrew it. Remember lefty loosy, righty tighty. Turn to the left until it comes off. The oil will drain into the container or pan you placed under it.

  4. Step 4

There is normally a small spring attached to the screw. Clean that of debre and then screw the plug back into the moped turning to the right. Then fill the engine with oil. Check the dipstick to make sure you fill it to the proper level, and check underneath to make sure you don't have any leaks from the oil plug.

  5. Step 5

After it is filled to the proper level, start your engine and let it run for 30 seconds. Then stop the engine and check your oil level again adding if necessary.

Tips & Warnings
  • Having a rag handy is always a good idea
  • Make sure to drop the used oil off at a service station for propper recycling.
