How to Google Search for Keywords in Website Titles Only

When searching on Google for a specific topic, one will often get several pages of websites including non-relevant information. This article provides steps for searching for keywords in website titles only, thereby increasing the likelihood of relevant search results.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    DOWNLOAD GOOGLE POWER SEARCH TOOL.

    This search tool is a free download from Google (see resources section below for downloading) and enhances traditional Google searches.

  2. Step 2

    ENTER YOUR SEARCH TERM.

    Once the download is complete, there will be a box in the tool bar that reads "PST" AND "ENTER YOUR SEARCH HERE". Enter your search term in that box, not the main search box that is normally used. This search box will also appear smaller on your screen.

  3. Step 3

    LIMIT YOUR TO WEBPAGE TITLES.

    To the right of the search term entry box, select the "Power" option. From the dropdown, select "Occurences" then "In the title of the page". This final selection will launch your desired search.
