How to Do the Shuffle Bridge With Playing Cards

Performing the bridge while shuffling cards is not required, but it is a fun way to bring the cards together after shuffling. With some practice, the bridge becomes handy and can make shuffling quicker.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Deck of cards
  1. Step 1

    Split the deck into to equal stacks. Using one hand on each stack, place the thumb on the top of each stack and the fingers on the bottom.

  2. Step 2

    Angle each stack of cards so your thumbs are close together and bend the middle of each stack of cards using your pointer finger.

  3. Step 3

    Release the cards one at a time by continuing to push down on the middle of the stack with your pointer finger and rolling your thumbs up each stack to release the bottom cards until all cards in both stacks have been mixed together.

  4. Step 4

    Place thumbs on top of the cards where the stacks intersect and bend the cards into an arch using your fingers on the bottom of the deck.

  5. Step 5

    Release your fingers to allow the cards to cascade. Complete the shuffle bridge by squaring up the deck with your hands.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you're having a difficult time, experiment with different hand positions and spacings.
