If the toy is one you feel comfortable cleaning, start by removing the dirt from the toy with mild soap and water to remove surface dirt. Make sure to dry the toy completely to prevent rust from developing.

Spray WD-40 on the toy to break up grease or stains that have developed over the years. Scrub the toy with a bit of steel wool or a Brillo pad to loosen rust or any remaining stains.

Soak the toy in cola to dissolve and loosen the remaining rust. You may need to soak the toy for up to 24 hours.
