There have been countless cookbooks written on how to bake a moist cake. Bakers suggest adding additional ingredients to the batter, such as a quarter cup of mayonnaise or yogurt, a box of pudding, applesauce and even cola. Some cooks suggest the only way to bake a moist cake is to find a good recipe and don't overbake. But once the cake comes out of the oven, the next question is how to keep the cake moist.       Resist the temptation to cut into the cake before serving. If you cut into the cake a few hours before the guests arrive, the cake will not be as moist as it would if you waited to cut right before serving.
