Carrying a zippered coin purse is not only convenient; it can be a fun fashion statement. By making your own coin purse, you can create an accessory in the size you need to match any style you desire. You don't need much in terms of supplies or sewing experience to complete this quick project, either.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Paper
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Durable fabric
  • Straight pins
  • 4-inch zipper
  • Needle
  • Thread
  1. Step 1

Draw a pattern for your coin purse on a blank piece of paper, leaving a ½-inch allowance on all sides for seams. The shape can be as simple as a semi-circle, as long as 1 edge is a straight, 4-inch line. Cut out the pattern.

  2. Step 2

Cut out 2 pieces of fabric using the pattern by pinning it to the fabric. Sew these 2 fabric pieces with their right sides together, leaving the straight, 4-inch line unsewn.

  3. Step 3

Sew the zipper into the remaining side, making sure that the zipper tab faces the outside of the purse when the purse is turned right side out.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use pre-quilted fabric for a designer look. Run a key ring through the hole on the zipper tab to attach your coin purse to your keys or a carabiner clip.
