1
Investigate your eligibility to get a real estate license. A license can be denied if you had a real estate license denied within the previous year or revoked within the previous two years. Prior civil judgments, criminal convictions or disciplinary actions regarding other professional licenses can prevent you from obtaining a license. Contact the Arizona Department of Real Estate to discuss these issues. Link in References.

2
Enroll in an Arizona-approved real estate school and complete 90 hours of education and pass the class final. To locate an approved school in your area, refer to the link in Resources. The 90 hours must be classroom hours, not online hours.

3
Take the state and national real estate tests at Prometric testing center. Link to Prometric is included in Resources. You will be required to take and pass two tests. The national test is the same test taken by all licensees throughout the United States, and the state test is specific to Arizona real estate laws. If you fail one or both of the tests, you can schedule to retake one or both. There will be a fee required for each time you take an exam.

4
Compile documents needed for the application process with the Arizona Department of Real Estate. These include three letters of character reference, a ten-year work history and a set of fingerprints on an Arizona Department of Real Estate-issued fingerprint card.

Apply for a real estate license with the Arizona Department of Real Estate after passing the state and federal real estate exams. You will need to apply within a year of passing the tests, or you will need to retake the exams. A fee will be required when the license is approved. Link to the application questionnaire is included in Resources along with contact information for the Arizona Department of Real Estate.
