How to Draw a Piggy Bank
Piggy bank drawings turn up in all sorts of media these days. As more attention is being paid to how much money people are making or losing, the image of the innocent piggy bank is often used in political cartoons, illustrations for editorial pieces or even as stand-alone art in a news magazine. Creating a drawing of a piggy bank can be done with a few simple shapes. You can use your own illustrative talent to add as much or as little personality as you would like to the piggy bank.

Add the nose with 2 oval shapes that slightly overlap each other. Place the first oval directly on the middle left side of the piggy bank body. Add the other oval just to the left and slightly down from the first oval. Draw the ears of the pig with a triangle on the upper left-hand side of the body. Add the other ear with an upside-down triangle above and to the right of the nose. Add 2 diagonal lines coming out of the left and right side of the triangle to make the ear look like it is folded over.

3
Draw a curved horizontal line connecting the top and bottom of the nose ovals. This will create a cylinder from these ovals. Add the nostril with 2 upside-down "U" shapes inside the left oval of the nose. Draw the eyes--2 more upside-down "U" shapes above and to the right of the nose. Draw the slot for the money with a curved line near the top middle of the piggy bank.

4
Draw the tail with a curly spring shape coming out of the right middle of the pig's body. Add the hooves by drawing a horizontal line across the bottom half of each leg. Add a small triangle inside the bottom left side of each foot.

You can make a photocopy of the image in Step 5 and try out different color schemes with art markers.
Be sure to let the ink dry before erasing the pencil lines or the image will smudge.
