Things You'll Need:
- Haircutting magazines
- Hairdresser that listens and is easy to talk to

Step 1
If you have thick, tight curly hair, you have always had to deal with "how to manage" your hair. You want to make sure your hairstylist is familiar with curly hair. Usually for women, you want to keep your hair medium to long. Atleast below the shoulders because curls will spring up and become unruly. They will be too short. The longer length will help the curls better because they will not be too short and frizzy and easier to maintain. I would recommend straight cut (cut straight across) or just very long layers on very bottom.

Step 2
Thick straight hair, is easier. Depending on the shape of your face, you can probably do about every cut. The Inverted Bob (long in front and shoter in back, stacked) is nice if you want to keep it simple and easy. You can do long with layers. If you do straight across, it possibly could be too bulky and just too much hair. It depends if your hair frizzes easy.

Step 3
If you have fine thin hair, short is best. It could be straight or a little curl. This will help with creating body and volume where there is none. You can create body with the curling iron or rolling brush and blow dryer. To help make the curls with the blow dryer, heat rolling brush then let cool before you let go of hair. The coolness closes cuticle down around the brush.

Step 4
If you have thick straight hair and want it shorter....what shape is your face. If it is oval to long then short is great. If your face is a circle or just too round, then short is not the best answer. Longer is better.
