Things You'll Need:
- 1 head of romaine lettuce, torn
- 4 cherry or plum tomatoes, cut in half or in wedges
- 1 regular sized cucumber, sliced
- ¾ cup of Italian dressing or vinaigrette dressing
- ¼ cup of diced red onions
- ½ cup of pitted black olives
-
Step 1
You’re going to need a large bowl for the first step. Rinse the lettuce in cold water, then tear it up (into manageable pieces) into the bowl. Start tossing your basic ingredients—the cucumber, tomato, red onions, olives and lettuce—in the bowl.
-
Step 2
Add in the dressing as you’re tossing the salad, bit by bit. Try not to “drench” the salad in the dressing (although I personally like to do this), so that the lettuce leaves can stay nice and crisp, and the tomatoes and so forth won’t get soggy. It’s better for the dressing to be tasted as a “hint” in the salad than for it to be the main event.
-
Step 3
Sprinkle the feta cheese in intermittently and stir some more. You can also opt to sprinkle in some Parmesan cheese as well, just as an extra accent, but this is entirely up to you.
-
Step 4
There you have it…serve and enjoy!
