Step 1
Gather together supplies and ingredients. You will need a medium sauce pan, an oven safe dish or metal bowl that is small and light enough to float in sauce pan, metal spaghetti tongs, water, a spoon, and chocolate or almond bark.
-
Step 2
Put enough water in the sauce pan so as that the oven safe dish will float without touching the bottom of the pan.
-
Step 3
On medium-low, heat the water.
-
Step 4
Set the oven safe dish into the water and add the chocolate or almond bark.
-
Step 5
Stir the chocolate several times per minute. This will allow the chocolate to melt evenly and keep it from sticking to the bottom. If you have a hard time stirring the chocolate because the top dish moves, use the metal tongs to hold it in place with one hand while stirring with the other.
-
Step 6
As soon as the chocolate has evenly melted, remove it from the heat. Chocolate is easily scorched so watch carefully.
-
Step 7
Voila! You have melted chocolate without a double boiler. Now use it to make your favorite dessert recipes.
