Things You'll Need:
- Costume jewelry
- Kitchen silverware drawer organizers
- Muffin tins
- Tiered cake and/or appetizer platters
- Small dishes
- Decorative hooks
-
Step 1
The main idea in organizing and storing your costume jewelry is to separate by type of jewelry. Lay out all of your jewelry on a flat surface and separate into piles of rings, bracelets, necklaces, watches, and earrings.
-
Step 2
Determine how many you have of each type of jewelry. This will help you when shopping for storage containers, or looking around the house for usable storage containers if you are on a budget.
-
Step 3
Use kitchen silverware organizing drawer bins to separate and store jewelry items. These work particually well for bracelets and necklaces which can be stretched out flat.
-
Step 4
Use muffin tins to store earrings or small pins and brooches.
-
Step 5
Hang decorative hooks inside the closet to store big, heavy and chunky necklaces. This also works well for belts and scarves.
-
Step 6
Use a beautiful cake stand on top of the dresser to store attractive necklaces and bracelets. This works well if it is a tiered stand as it will hold more items.
-
Step 7
Visit a local thrift store to look for small decorative china plates and bowls. Choose ones that have flowers or other feminine artwork designs. These can be arranged on top of a nightstand to place jewelry on which is takenoff just before bedtime.
-
Step 8
Jewelry can also be stored in a cloth fold-up jewelry organizer. This way it can be taken along with you when you go on a trip or easily placed in a safety deposit box before a trip.
