Instructions

    • 1

Cut the copper, brass or nickel silver sheet metal into 2 1/8 inch (about 55 mm) long and 1/4 inch (6mm) wide. If you do not know how to cut metal, see our ehow How to Use a Jewelry Saw at http://www.ehow.com/how_4772007_copper-steel-gold-sheet-metal.html or click the link in the resource section of this article.

    • 2

The sheet metal will now be a rectangle. Cut a "V" shape on one end of the rectangle. The "V" shaped end will be the bottom of the plant marker that you will insert into the soil. The "V" shaped end should be filed so it is sharp enough to be easily inserted into soil, but dull enough not to cut the planter.

    • 3

File the edges of the metal until quite smooth.

    • 4

Stamp the name of the herb on the top end of the cut metal.

    • 5

Sand the metal until smooth. If you do not know how to sand metal, see our ehow How to Use Sand Paper at http://www.ehow.com/how_4805483_use-sand-paper.html or click the link in the resource section of this article.
