Letter recognition activities for the letter T will enable your preschooler to easily identify the letter. Try these activities over the course of a week to teach them the letter T.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Introduce the letter T to your child by showing her a picture of the letter. Make a cut out of the letter for her to color and explore. Talk about words that start with the letter T and practice making the sound of the letter T.

  2. Step 2

Make triangle art. Cut out several triangles of different sizes and colors. Have your preschooler glue the triangles on a piece of paper to create a picture.

  3. Step 3

Do a truck wash for your child's toy trucks. Get a bucket of soapy water and a sponge. Have him wash each truck.

  4. Step 4

Make towers out of blocks or cardboard boxes. See how tall you can stack the towers or how many different ways you can stack them.

  5. Step 5

Tye dye a t shirt or decorate a t shirt with fabric paint. Make the letter T on the shirt to remind your child how it looks.

  6. Step 6

  7. Step 7

Play a teddy bear toss game. Set up a laundry basket across the room. Have your child toss teddy bears into the laundry basket. If it is too easy, move the basket back further.

  8. Step 8

Practice using a telephone. Get an old telephone that you no longer use or unplug one from the phone jack. Let your child play with the telephone. Teach your child his phone number and 911.

  9. Step 9

Set up a tent in the backyard. Play in the tent during the day or schedule special tent time for playing or reading. Take a flashlight to the tent at night and shine it on the walls of the tent.

  10. Step 10

Make a turtle out of a paper bowl. Paint the bowl for the turtle's shell. Paint a letter T on the shell. Cut out legs and a head from paper and attach to the bowl.

  11. Step 11

Review the letter T. Talk about the words that start with the letter T and the sound that it makes.
