How to Clean LCD Monitors

LCD monitors must be cleaned carefully

LCD monitors can get dirty from daily use. Clean them carefully and properly to maintain their function.

Things You'll Need

• Water
• Rubbing alcohol
• Spray bottle
• Soft, lint-free cloth

Instructions

1. Mix distilled water and rubbing alcohol with a 1:1 ratio in a spray bottle.

2. Turn off the monitor.

3. Spray the solution onto the lint-free cleaning rag.

4. Wipe the screen gently with the damp soft cloth.

5. Let the screen dry completely before turning the screen back on.

Tips & Warnings

• Try to minimize the amount of times you touch your screen with your fingers. The oils in your hand can begin to eat away at the coating that protects your screen.

• Use a microfiber cloth to remove dust.

• LCD monitor cleaner can be purchased, but it contains the same ingredients as the homemade version.

• Do not use an abrasive cloth as this might damage your screen.

• Never use glass cleaner or paper towels to clean an LCD screen.
