Instructions

    • 1

Dig out the topsoil where you plan on planting your herb garden.

    • 2

Lay out bricks in a circle fashion where topsoil has been removed. Other shapes are useful as well, but a circle is usually the most visually appealing for such an herb garden.

    • 3

Create compartments with separate rows of bricks within your garden circle (think "spokes" within the circle).

    • 4

Add a second row so that each spoke is at least two bricks tall.

    • 5

Fill the herb garden sections with compost soil until it is level with the top layer of brick.

    • 6

Plant your herbs within the compartments of the circle.

    • 7

Water them well; especially upon first planting, to establish rooting.

Tips & Warnings

  • The sectioned off growing space for this particular herb garden keeps the more aggressive herbs at bay, and within their own space. Trim back herbs as needed.

  • Avoid planting mint within this setup. It is a very aggressive herb that can take over the space.
