Plant the gerbera daisy plants in partial or full sun. In the deep South, the sunlight is too brutal and can cause the plant's leaves and blooms to become sunburned. In other climates, however, the daisies can be placed in full sun.

Bought one for my wife for Mother's Day. Had bright yellow, rich red and white blooms. My wife has a green thumb and usually grow anything. However, 2 days after bringing it home, flowers started drooping. All the blooms are gone and now the foilage is starting yellow. Plant stays inside out of sunshine. Wouldl it help to put it out on the patio? It would not be in the sunlight, but would receive bright filtered light.

I have them in my yard and they have been there for years! You must keep them watered and fertilized and here (northern CA) they survive the winter. Dunno about Grand Rapids!
