Instructions

    • 1

Tape one end of the string to the back of one card, near the center of the top. Do this before your audience arrives, and place the card in the middle of the deck.

    • 2

Tell the audience a particular card has been waiting for them; it's so excited that it's about to jump out of the deck.

    • 3

Hold the cards in your less dominant hand. Slowly slide your dominant hand over the deck so you can grab the string coming from the deck between your index and middle finger (or tie a loop over one of your fingers before your audience arrives).

    • 4

Raise your dominant hand over the deck while saying, "Come on, come meet everybody, don't be shy..." Start to move the card from the deck.

    • 5

Drop the deck on the floor so the cards scatter, while holding up your dominant hand to keep the trick card in the air. Move your hand slightly to make the card hover.

Tips & Warnings

  • In order to lengthen the trick and entertain a younger audience, weave a story about a magic card or about a person who has been turned into a card.

  • Make sure the string is taped securely to the back of the card and you get a good grip on the string with your dominant hand.
