Adaptive multirate (AMR) compression files are an audio extension format that is used to record speech. It is commonly used to store voice recording on mobile phones. MP3 audio is a digital audio format that is used on computer music. MP3 is also used for storing digital music on MP3 players.
Converting your AMR files to MP3 format allows you to upload them to your portable MP3 player and use them on digital music programs such as iTunes. This is made possible with a simple, free audio converter program.

Things You'll Need:

  • FreeStar Free AMR MP3 Converter
  1. Step 1

    Download FreeStar Free AMR MP3 Converter 1.0.1 (see Resources). Follow the setup and download instructions to install it on your computer. This audio converter program is completely free.

  2. Step 2

    Launch your program from the location that you saved it during the installation. Click "Add" at the top of the main panel.

  3. Step 3

    Locate your AMR file, then click "Open" to load it to the source window of your program. Select "MP3" under the "Device" options.

  4. Step 4

    Select the output directory path where you want to save your file after it has been converted. Click "Convert" to convert your AMR file to MP3 format.
