Step 1
The most important thing that you can remember before completing a survey online is that they should never ask you for your social security number, bank account, credit card, or other important information. Yes, they will ask your name, address and phone number but nothing more. Do not give any site important information such as the things I mentioned. If they ask anything of that matter - it's a red flag and you should report them.
-
Step 2
Always check with the BBB. Any legit business or online business should have some standing with the BBB. For instance, if you search for eHow on the BBB website, you will find that it IS in good standing and is legit. By looking up this information, you will be able to tell whether it is even worth your time.
-
Step 3
Do your research on online forums and websites. It's pretty simple. All you really have to do is Google the online survey site name and tons of reviews will pop up. Of course, some people will never be happy, but if they are more complaints than positives about the site - well, you have your answer.
-
Step 4
Another way to choose a legit paid survey site is to check it's referral program is. Most legit survey sites have a fairly good process of referring people. Depending on how much they pay for survey, and other members signing up under your name - you can determine whether or not it's worth the hassle.
