Insurance companies can be hard to work with, especially when you are trying to get money from them. If you are injured on the job, you are entitled to worker's comp benefits, and your employer is required to supply them.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

If you were injured while intoxicated, you probably won't be entitled to worker's compensation benefits so be aware of that. If you were intoxicated, they will do a drug test on you.

  2. Step 2

See a doctor immediately. It is important to see a doctor right away because it can make it hard to get worker's comp if you wait a while to see a physician.

  3. Step 3

Tell your employer that you need ti file a claim. They will tell you the necessary steps to get the claim initiated. It is important to tell them as soon as possible because, like the step above, if you wait it will make it harder to collect benefits.

  4. Step 4

Workmans compensation rules vary by state, but expect the claim to be disputed. It is ok to dispute a denial and be ready to do so. Make sure you have all your doctor bills handy as needed if you need to fight a denial of benefits.
