Things You'll Need:
- 8 oz wide mouthed jar
- 2 bars pure glycerin soap
- 1/4 cup warm water
- 1/4 cup used coffee grounds
- blender
-
Step 1
Cut up the two bars of glycerin soap into small pieces. You can use a sharp paring knife, or a cheese grater or mandolin to make it easier.
-
Step 2
Drop the pieces in the blender and add the warm water. Run the blender on low, adding more water if necessary until the soap is the consistency of thin pudding.
-
Step 3
Scrape the soap into a small bowl. Stir in the coffee grounds until they are well-mixed. Stir in a few tablespoons of olive oil to make your coffee scrub soap even more softening for your hands.
-
Step 4
Pour the liquefied coffee soap into the jar. Keep tightly covered when not in use.
-
Step 5
To use coffee scrub soap, simply scoop out a dollop and use to wash your hands. The coffee is a natural deodorizer and skin exfoliant, so it's ideal for hand washing after you handle foods like onions or fish. It's also the ideal soap for washing up after working on a car or out in the garden.
