Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Scale
  • 6 Straws
  • 2tsp Almond oil
  • 2tsp Bee's Wax Pellets
  • 2 Glass or Plastic Measuring Cups
  • 2 Cylinder Candle Molds of different sizes.Mine are 3 and 4 inches.
  • Popsicle Sticks(for Stirring)
  • 15oz White or Shea Butter Soap Base
  • 15oz Clear Soap Base
  • Green dye or Mica
  • Red dye or Mica-non bleeding if you can...but mine bleed into each other at the rime.
  • 1oz white soap base
  • Black dye or mica
  • 45drops Watermelon Fragrance oil
  • 25drops Peppermint Essential oil
  • Vasaline -for greasing the molds.
  • Rubbing Alcohol in a spray bottle.
  • Butcher Knife
  • Saran Wrap
  • Syringe or dropper(turkey injector syringe works best...you dont need the needle.)
  1. Step 1
    Equipment you'll need.

    Equipment you'll need.

Organize the equipment you need, you can also go ahead and grease those molds to save time later.

  2. Step 2
Some of the soap cut into squares.

Measure out your clear and white soap bases to 15oz each. Cut them into small blocks and they melt better. I do mine by weight.Oh and this can be done with 2 clear base layers.

  3. Step 3
Melted white base with bees wax and almond oil.

Take this time to Grease the molds, and smash your straws flat then let it reopen..thats your seeds

Melt the white soap base with the bees wax pellets. I have a 1250w microwave and its much faster than the double boiler method. Start at about 1 min 30sec.and then at shorter intervals stirring in between
with the popsicle sticks.Add The 2 tsp of almond oil after all of the soap is melted.

  4. Step 4
Colored Soap with straws in place to cool.

Now add the 45 drops of watermelon fragrance oil, and the red dye or mica, to your taste it can be pink to a very deep red, but for the easiest red color use clear base:)

Pour a very small amount into the smaller mold, just enough to cover the bottom in a thin layer. Give it a min then place your straws in 3 on 1 side leave room in the middle 3 on the other side.(they may try to fall over at first but as the soap cools they will stay.

Then Pour the rest of the colored soap into the mold...Be aware the straws may try to lean just try to put them back till the skin forms on the top.

Then spray twice with the rubbing alcohol. If your soap gets a lil lumpy before pouring it in the mold just pop it back in the microwave for a few(15-20)seconds. After pouring the soap it can sit for a hour or two,or go into the refridgerator for while.

The soap is ready to come out when it is firm throughout,to find this out you can lightly squeeze the cylinder after about 45mins to a hour or less if in the fridge.
