How to Make Delicious Gooey Butter Cake

This recipe is easy to make, delicious, and for those who love cream cheese, hard to resist. I have added an addition of blueberry pie filling to this cake recipe. The blueberries add much to the flavor and color of this delicious cake, but they are optional.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 package yellow cake mix
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup of melted butter
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 can of blueberry pie filling
  1. Step 1

    Prepare a 9 x 13 cake pan by greasing and flouring,
    and preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

  2. Step 2

    Mix one package of yellow cake mix, 1/2 cup of melted butter and 1 egg together. Mix thoroughly and press into the greased and floured pan.

  3. Step 3

    Spread the blueberry pie filling onto the pressed cake mixture. You may use the whole can or use less if you prefer. You may even leave the blueberries out completely if you wish.

  4. Step 4

    In a separate bowl, mix the cream cheese, lemon juice, 2 eggs, and confectioners’ sugar together, using a mixer. Pour this mixture over the blueberry layer.

  5. Step 5

    Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
