Things You'll Need:
- Red based blush
- Brown based blush
- Pink or peach blush
- Blush brush
- Mirror
-
Step 1
Set the proper foundation. Just like a painter needs to prepare a canvas, you need to prepare your face. This will prevent blotchy, over-colored cheeks. Prepare your skin by washing, moisturizing, and applying foundation and powder.
-
Step 2
Find your brush. Selecting the right brush for you is important because the wrong side can make your cheeks look sloppy. Choose a brush that fits the size of the apple of your cheek when you smile.
-
Step 3
Prepare your brush. Washing your brush according to the package directions, or with mild soap and water will keep bacteria from spreading.
-
Step 4
Load your brush with the pink blush. Some say that tapping on the blush powder with the tips of a blush brush will adequetely load your brush. If that is not satisfactory, glide the tips of your blush brush very gently across the surface of your blush powder.
-
Step 5
Make sure you have not overloaded your blush brush by blowing on the tips. That will remove any excess blush, and evenly distribute the blush.
-
Step 6
Starting at the apple of your cheek, apply blush lightly with a loose hand. Work in upward and outward sweeping motions, following your cheekbone, until you reach your temple.
-
Step 7
Repeat steps 4-5 with the red toned blush. This time, instead of following your cheek bone, dab a small amount into the dip under your cheekbone, creating the illusion of a shadow. Follow with the brown toned blush in the same manner. Sweep across the apple of your cheek and your cheekbone very lightly with these colors; just enough to blend all of the colors together.
