Prepare for a Yard or Garage Sale
Prepare for a Yard or Garage Sale

Is your house overflowing with clutter? If it is, you don't have time to wait for the Clean House crew- it is time for YOU to have a Yard Sale and make a few extra hundred bucks. Almost everyone driving down the road can be tempted to stop at a Yard Sale at one time or another.

One man's clutter is another man's treasure.

Don't wait another day start preparing for your Yard Sale.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Tables
  • Clutter
  • Time
  1. Step 1

Clean out the clutter. Take several trips around your house and grab everything that you don't use and want to sell in the yard/garage sale. Take all the items you find to the garage.

  2. Step 2

Set up several tables in your garage to place all of the items you find from your house. Place your items with similar items so that they are easier to find for yard sale shoppers.

  3. Step 3

Begin pricing all of the items. Try and price items in dollar increments. Change can be a pain at yard sales. If you need to group two items together. All items should be priced before the yard sale starts, so that you won't have to answer "How Much is This". Price accordingly you will not be able to get the full price that you paid, but you don't want to give the items away.

  4. Step 4

Make Yard Sale signs. You will need to put a sign at every turn drivers will have to make to get to your yard sale. You should also advertise in the paper and even on Craigslist. Also if you live in a community try and find out when the next community yard sale is.

  5. Step 5

Prepare your cash drawer. You should have at least $40.00 in ones as well as some big bills to give change. If you don't have the change yard sale shoppers might decide not to buy.

  6. Step 6

Place your yard sale signs out late the night before or early morning the day of the yard sale. Remember to place one at every turn or shoppers will be lost.

  7. Step 7

Go To Bed Early! You are going to need a good nights rest. Yard sale shoppers are out and about very early. At the latest you should start your yard sale is 8:00a.m.
