Has your unemployment ran out, and you're still looking for a job? Need a job right away, but just can't seem to find one. Follow this "Get a Hired Quickly" plan to find a job in 30 days or less.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Hard work.
  • Dedication
  • Newspaper
  • Internet Access
  • Dependable Vehicle
  1. Step 1

Start on a Sunday. Yeah that's right, Sunday. First, Pick up the Sunday paper early Sunday morning. Yeah, that's right. Get up early Sunday morning. Go out and get the paper after you've had your coffee or what have you. Skim through the want ads. Circle any and everything that you can apply to. Don't skip anything that might hire you. For the second half of Sunday, Apply to every site on the Internet that you can find for work of some sort. Part-time, retail, restaurant, tele-sales and sales positions are usually hiring pretty quickly and don't require very many references or qualifications, i.e. you may be able to acquire the job in a shorter time period. This is the best day to get massive Internet spam attacks to employers knocked out of the way. A few of the best online job hunting sites are

    http://www.careerbuilder.com/
    http://www.monster.com/
    http://hotjobs.yahoo.com/
    http://www.snagajob.com/
There are many other job hunting sites, but here are a few just to get you started. Make sure you have a decent resume prepared with just the right amount of padding. Careerbuilder.com has a quick apply option so that you can apply for literally hundreds of jobs in a few short hours.

  2. Step 2

Monday - Pound the pavement like a marathon runner. This is the most important day for job hunters. While you will probably not be hired until the middle of the week or even the week after, most places hire from applications turned in on Mondays. Just set a goal of about 4-5 applications or resumes for this day and try to reach it. Popular sites for hiring quickly or even on the spot include your local mall, telemarketing firm, restaurant, or catering company. Just keep running. Often applying for jobs is more tiring than the job itself.

  3. Step 3

Tuesday - More of the same from Monday. Keep pounding the pavement for jobs. Today is a good day to branch out. Look for jobs a little further out than normal. Extend your radius to include 25-50 miles from your home if possible. Do a Google search for newpapers in that area, and the classifieds section of each paper can normally be found online. Peruse these late Monday night or early Tuesday morning. Choose the best ones for immediate hire and apply again. Today's goal is 3-5 applications or resumes.

  4. Step 4

Wednesdays - Hit all of the temporary agencies in your town. Check for any available work. Temporary agencies often hire administrative assistants, skilled labor, food service and bar tending staff, and many other positions. You will have to test for many of these positions. Ask the temporary services hiring agent what you can do with your resume to make it better. You might also ask if there is a better way to ask certain interview questions. Temporary agencies will also assist you with any resume issues or concerns that you might have. Their job is to find you a job. This is an excellent resource for job hunting. Temporary agencies can be found in the YellowPages, and here is a list of some nation-wide temporary agencies:

    http://www.manpower.com/
    http://www.kellyservices.com

  5. Step 5

Thursday - Go to the unemployment office in your area or the local Goodwill. Places like these offer other job opportunities you may have over looked. Sign up and wait your turn. A career counselor will meet with you, and offer you suggestions and job leads based on your needs and qualifications.

  6. Step 6

Friday - Apply to the job leads you acquired on Thursday. Try to apply to at least 3 places today, but don't get in too much of a hurry or feel stressed if you haven't gotten a job, yet. One will turn up if you keep looking. Spend the rest of the weekend on the computer applying via internet job portals. This is also an excellent time to try to get referrals from friends and family. Ask them where to look for a job, if they know of anyone who is hiring, or if they can get or give you a job for now. This makes a great excuse for grabbing lunch or a few beer and settling down for a few laughs with friends.

  7. Step 7

Saturday - Your weekly goal should be around 10-15 physical resumes or applications and from 20-250 online resumes or applications. Saturday is your new day off. Have fun. Get ready to rinse and repeat for the next week.

on 6/1/2009 Another great idea is to tele-market the places that might be hiring the day before setting out to find a job. Call every place in the phone book that might hire you until someone hints that they are hiring. Often they will at least tell you if they are not hiring, and this could save you tons of time. Call every restaurant, retail store, department store, and drug store in the phone book until someone hints that you should definitely come in and fill out an application.
