Step 1
Make sure you are eligible by checking to see if you fit into the Federal Poverty Income Levels. To be eligible must have an income of no more than 130% of the Income Level that applies to you.
This list shows the number of people and each gross monthly income limits:
1 person: $1,127
2 people: $1,517
3 people: $1,907
4 people: $2,297
5 people: $2,687
6 people: $3,077
7 people: $3,467
8 people: $3,857 -
Step 2
Also you must reside in Florida and be a U.S. citizen or be a qualified non-citizen. You must also have a social security number or provide proof that you have applied for one.

Make sure you have never been convicted of dealing drugs, that you are not a fugitive of a felony warrant, and that you have not broken the food stamp rules on purpose.

If you opt to print out and mail your application, please mail or fax your form the nearest service center. To find a service center near you, follow the link below and click on your county.

Once you complete your application, try making a grocery list by planning out your meals for the next two weeks. Meal planning can greatly help a tight budget.
