Once you know what you want, be sure to call the hotel or look at their website and see if they have those rooms available for the dates you want. It is possible they may not, so be prepared to look around.

When you're on the phone or website of the hotel, ask about amenities like pools, hot tubs, work-out rooms, breakfast, room service, etc., so that you know what perks you can get during your stay. Some hotels even have free access to local gyms or coupons to local restaurants- not bad!

It might also be a good idea to see what pictures there are online. Try and find a photo tour or even sample pictures so that you have a good idea of the room and hotel you will be at.

Make a list of the pros and cons of each hotel you called or looked at online. Find out which hotel has the best rate for the perks- sometimes it's worth paying more for a hotel that has a free breakfast.

Be sure to find out if you can get a discount for booking the room early. Sometimes these deals can save you a lot of money- but be careful, because they also tend to be non-refundable, so be sure you want the room first!

Finally, talk with the hotel and find out how you can get there, how close it is to attractions, and what services the hotel offers in terms of transportation. Some provide free shuttles to the airport or around town. Just make sure you enjoy the stay!
