How to Find Compliance Officer Training

Compliance officer training is a must for those in the field and those who wish to enter the world of compliance. There are a variety of industries that employ compliance officers. If you are already in the field your employer should provide training in the form of professional development opportunities. But if you are looking for training to enter the field you should find it by following the steps below.

1. 

   Decide on the industry you would like to enter. You must do this so you can appropriately identify the correct training opportunities. If you are unsure, choose no more than three and narrow it down later. Banking, government, corporate entities, and post secondary education seem to have a fair amount of compliance officers.

2. 

   Once you have chosen the industry, go to the national association website for that industry. For example, the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics is a wonderful resource. They have a certification program and list compliance job postings across industries. A link to their website is included in the resource section.

3. 

   Choose a training program based on your needs and level of experience. Only attend the training if it will be new information for you. You should consider joining the association to keep abreast of new compliance training opportunities.
