It’s a good idea to not use your credit card when you go shopping to avoid overspending and paying high interest rates. This form of spending has become a convenience for most people, but it has also caused a lot of credit problems too. The next time you go to the mall, you can take other methods of payments to pay for all your purchases.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Debit Card

A debit card is a card you get through your bank. The difference between this card and a credit card is that a debit card is pre-funded and you are not charged interest on your purchases. Using your debit card is a great way to shop because you already know how much you have in your account, and you won’t have to worry about making a monthly payment each month to a creditor.

  2. Step 2

    Cash

What could be better than paying for your purchases using cash? There is no sense in paying for an item with a credit card if you have the cash to pay for it and if you don’t have the available funds, then perhaps you should not be shopping. This is how the beginning of debts starts.

  3. Step 3

    Checks

You can write a personal check when you shop in your local stores. Just make it sure that you have fund ready in your bank account.

  4. Step 4

    Prepaid Cards

If you do not have any banking accounts, you can still shop by buying your prepaid cards. This is safer way to shop around than bringing your cash in your wallet.

Tips & Warnings
  • Avoid any banking fees by checking your account for overdraft or cash balances online.
