Things You'll Need:
- Foundation (Chanel works best)
- Cosmetic sponge
- Mirror
-
Step 1
Start by preparing your skin. You need to cleanse and moisturize your face before each application of foundation. That will prevent your pores from becoming clogged from the foundation and keep blemishes away.
-
Step 2
Choose your foundation. The best foundation on the market right now is Chanel Teint Innocence with SPF 12. This foundation is light and oil-free which is great for oily faces, but works well on dry skin as well. The SPF prevents the sun from damaging your skin and making it tough and wrinkled. It creates a very fresh appearance.
-
Step 3
Choose your color. Usually you can instinctively tell which color will work best with your skin, but just in case you are unsure, go to a beauty counter to have your skin matched to a color. Or rub a small amount onto the back of your hand and see if it blends well. Too light and you will look heavy and puffy. Too dark and you will look fake.
-
Step 4
Using a cosmetic sponge, apply a small amount of foundation at a time to your face and neck in a circular motion. You may want to wet the sponge a bit first. Make sure you blend it thoroughly to avoid lines where the foundation color ends. A cosmetic sponge creates a natural, soft appearance.
-
Step 5
Set your foundation with powder. That will keep it from feeling greasy and from rubbing onto things you touch. It is also the perfect way to prepare your skin for blush.
