Deep-Condition Hair with Natural Products

Overprocessing, styling and environmental exposure all cause hair to become dry and brittle. Though there are lots of brand name deep conditioners on the market that claim to restore shine and vitality to your thirsty locks, why spend money on these chemical concoctions when you can make your own deep conditioner with natural, safe products? A fresh avocado fruit, rich mayonnaise and some olive oil will make your hair softer and smoother than any store-bought item. These natural products have highly potent moisturizing qualities that have been used in hair care and skin care for many years.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Avocado
  • Mayonnaise
  • Olive oil
  • Plastic mixing bowl
  • Spatula or spoon
  • Shower cap
  • Comb
  1. Step 1

Mash up half of the avocado in the plastic mixing bowl until you have a creamy paste.

  2. Step 2

Add two tablespoons of mayonnaise and a tablespoon of olive oil, and stir with a spatula or spoon to blend thoroughly.

  3. Step 3

Wet hair and slick back with a comb. If you have just washed your hair, wring out excess moisture with a towel.

  4. Step 4

Grab a handful of the avocado/mayonnaise conditioner. Rub it between your palms and massage into your hair from roots to tips.

  5. Step 5

Cover hair with a shower cap, and let your hair absorb the conditioner for about 15-30 minutes. As the moisturizing properties from the ingredients soak into your hair strand, they will make it softer, shinier and easier to manage.

  6. Step 6

Comb out the mixture to prevent clogging up your sink, then rinse out hair with warm water. Style as usual.

Tips & Warnings
  • These natural items are perishable. Refrigerate the conditioner to prolong shelf life.
  • Use this natural hair conditioner about once a week for noticeably silky hair with less breakage and split ends.
