Step 1
When purchasing your domain, you have the option of purchasing that domain 1 or more years. Purchase it for 5 or more years up front. Your website will be looked at as a more serious website, rather than a come and go site. This can possibly increase your search results greatly. I've seen first hand how well this works.
-
Step 2
The keywords you choose should be included in the name of your website, title, or throughout the description and content of your website. The more keywords you have on your main page the better.
-
Step 3
Your website needs to be active. You can make changes often, have an active forum, or have an active blog included on your site. Basically, the more movement and visits you have to your site, the higher the rankings. Your site will be seen as a more established site.
-
Step 4
Put your link out there wherever you can. Search engine spiders move throughout the internet, from site to site... following hyperlinks. Your site will be looked at as more important when you have high quality and high traffic sites pointing to your site.
-
Step 5
Be sure your site is easy to navigate. Not only will a site map help visitors navigate your site, but it will help spiders as well.
-
Step 6
Make sure your meta tags accurately describe your content. Meta Tags are hidden HTML for web browsers and search engines. They include relevant keywords describing your site content and the description of the site that shows up when a search engine returns a search.
I hope this article was helpful, and good luck with much success.
