How to Configure Outlook Express for Verizon Email

Every PC computer running Windows XP comes with Microsoft Outlook Express installed on it, which is the operating system's default email client. When using Outlook Express, you must configure it with a valid email address. Outlook Express can send and receive email from a variety of mail servers, including Verizon.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Click on the Start menu and click on the "Outlook Express" icon.

  2. Step 2

    Go to the "Tools" menu and select "Accounts."

  3. Step 3

    Go to the "Mail" tab and choose to "Add a New Email Account."

  4. Step 4

    Enter your full name and email address, which should end with "@verizon.net."

  5. Step 5

    Select "POP3" as the account type and enter "incoming.verizon.net" as the incoming server address. Then enter "outgoing.verizon.net" as the outgoing server address.

  6. Step 6

    Click on the "Next" button and enter the user name and password that you use to access your Verizon email.

  7. Step 7

    Click "Finish" to complete the configuration of Outlook Express and begin using your Verizon email address.
