Set the Margins Using Microsoft Works

Margins are a helpful tool to aid you with organizing your document, formatting pictures and text, and helping to keep printable areas correctly aligned. When designing your document try not to have the text too close to the margins. This clutters the look of the document and may cause printing issues if pictures are present. Choose a larger margin when you are looking to convey formality in your document.

Instructions

    • 1

      Open Microsoft Works.

    • 2

Choose "File" at the top left your screen. A submenu appears.

    • 3

Click "Page Setup." The "Page Setup" window will open.

    • 4

Select the "Margins" tab. Here you can adjust your top, bottom, left and right margins, as well as your header and footer margins.

    • 5

Reset the margins to the default by clicking the "Reset" button in the bottom left corner of the window.

Tips & Warnings

  • In order for Headers and Footers to show correctly they must be smaller than the "Top" and "Bottom" margins.
