How to Convert Podcast to Mpeg 4
When you download a video or audio podcast from the Internet, it will not always automatically be able to play on portable devices like iPods. However, you can use the Handbrake application, which is available for free for both Mac and PC computers, to convert podcasts to MPEG 4 files, which have a .mp4 extension and can be played on other devices.

Go to the Handbrake download site (see Resources), and download the latest version of the Handbrake application for either Mac or PC.

Open the Handbrake application, and select the podcast file that you want to convert as the source for the conversion process.

Click on the "Browse" button to choose where to save the MPEG 4 version of the file.

Select "MP4 File" from the list of available format types in the output settings.

Click on the "Start" button to begin the conversion process. Depending on the size of the podcast file, the conversion process could take up to an hour to complete.
