How to Make Space Costumes
Making space costumes is all about deciding what type of space-traveler you want to be. Do you want to be an alien monster, a realistic modern astronaut, a 1950s-style futuristic humanoid or some other sort of being? Find some clothes you don't mind damaging. If you can find a jumpsuit, that is ideal. Otherwise, you can use a light jacket and pants.

Paint the clothes with silver poster paint. Alternately, you can tape or glue heavy-duty aluminum foil onto them.

Make a visor. Tape cellophane onto a glasses frame to make a futuristic looking eye shield. Alternately, you could just get some wrap-around glasses.

Get some space traveler toys. Strap toy laser guns, walkie-talkies, flashing doodads and anything else you can find at the dollar store to your costume.

Do your hair in an interesting, futuristic style. You could dye it a bright color, for example, or spike it up into a cone.
