Things You'll Need:
- 2 Small Bookshelf
- Rubbermaid Tubs
- Shipping Tape
- Shipping scale
- scissors
- Utility Knife
- Priority Mail Supplies
- Customs Envelopes
- Express Mail Envelopes
-
Step 1
Shipping ScalesI've been selling my way through eBay since 1997 and I know first hand how important it is to be organized.
One major word that I live by is to Simplify!
And the shipping department is an important place to keep tidy and ready for a smooth shipping experience. -
Step 2
I still have my original "Baby Scale" that I used "back in the day" and it comes in hand now and then still.
I have since moved up in the world to a high tech digital scale which I highly recommend every eBay seller should have one! -
Step 3
Shipping SuppliesFirst you will need a small bookshelf. I found this one as shown in my photo, it has a bit of a slant to the two bottom shelf's.
Pick out a narrow style so that it will not take up much room up against the wall. -
Step 4
More itemsPick-up some nice rubbermaid tubs to hold supplies in.
Like: tape, scissors, utility knife all the goodies! -
Step 5
Tape dispensers are a MUST!
-
Step 6
Express Mail and priority mail supplies are handy to have on hand when you need them.
Visit the reference section and order a few "eBay" branded, priority mail shipping boxes for free!
EBay has a fantastic shipping center showing more details. Link is also provided. -
Step 7
Customs forms will save time to have them filled out in advance.
Or if you print them direct from the computer, then order the clear envelopes from the United States Postal service ahead of time. They are all free and you can get them delivered to your home directly from the USPS.com website. -
Step 8
Organize your shipping center into a place close by your computer. Keep everything tight in a nice eBay work area.
This will help make the business run smooth and stay on track!

on 7/24/2009 Great info! I'll start setting up my little shipping center as soon as I get the bookshelves. Thanks!

on 6/14/2009 My problem is that it is easier to be organized than it is to be motivated to pack & ship. It's my only unfavorite thing about selling! Blessings, Granny
