How to Clean Your Bathtub, The Easy Way

Its Spring cleaning time again, and that means getting everything clean,clean, clean. When I was a housekeeper several years ago, I learned this cool trick to get a bathtub clean with no scubbing, now I am sharing it with you.

Things You'll Need

• sponge or damp wash rag
• oven cleaner

Instructions

1. Start by spraying the entire bathtub with oven cleaner. This works mainly on cast iron bathtubs. Why oven cleaner, you ask? As a prior housekeeper I learned that oven cleaner was not only good at taking out the grease from your oven but also great at removing soap scum (which is usually made from fats) from your tub.

2. After spraying bathtub, let oven cleaner sit for 30 minutes. Open a window or ventalation for the bathroom to reduce fumes.

3. After waiting 30 minutes, simply wipe the bathtub clean. You can wipe the bathtub with a sponge or damp towel. You will find a shiny bathtub, without needed to scrub.

Tips & Warnings

• I recommend using the fume free oven cleaners.

• If using on fiberglass, test an area of your bathtub first. This cleaning method is recommended for cast iron bathtubs.
