    Dual DVI ports on 4870X2.

Make sure you have a video card with dual monitor support as well as two monitors.

  2. Step 2

Connect both monitors to the video card using DVI or VGA. If you monitor only takes VGA, you may have to use a DVI to VGA adapter on the graphics card.

  3. Step 3

Turn on both monitors. If you are using XP right click the desktop and select Properties, then Display Properties, then Settings, and finally your external monitor in the Display section. For Vista, right click your desktop, select Personalize, then Display Settings, and then Identify Monitors. From here, you can change the location of the monitors. If Monitor 1 is your primary display and Monitor 2 is to the left of Monitor 1, this should be reflected in the location of Monitor 2 in the display settings. (Same if secondary monitor is to the right of the primary monitor). Click "This is my main monitor" for your primary display, and click "Extend desktop onto this monitor" when you have the secondary display selected. Click apply when you are finished.
