Growing a garden can be a lot of fun and very rewarding, but it occasionally takes more work than you might expect. With a little bit of time and effort you can have a beautiful garden full of fruits and vegetables.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Add a pinch of salt to each gallon of water you use on your cherry tomatoes in your garden. Salt actually stresses the tomato plant and makes them produce more antioxidants that protect them. This will also boosts their levels of heart and cancer disease fighting compounds.

  2. Step 2

Mix shredded newspapers into the soil of your garden. This should be done with two parts paper to every eight parts dirt. It will reduce the risk of some plants, such as tomatoes, from rotting. It will also help vegetables from root rot. The newspaper soaks up the moisture and will help disease fighting microbes to grow.

  3. Step 3

Stir one tablespoon of Epson salt into a gallon of water and spray your vegetable leaves with a spritzer once every 14 days. This salt will add magnesium, which improves the quality of vegetable plants and also increase the yield of your garden.
