Fix Your Slow Computer

Is your computer slow? Does it crawl along while opening your web browser or other applications. Often times people mistake this for a slow internet connection when really it is adware or a trojan virus. Even if you don't have these two issues, you may have a hard drive that is in serious need of defragmenting.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Run adaware: If you don't have this free software, go to download.com and type in adaware. Run this scan now. You will be amazed at the amount of garbage that can slow down your computer. By running this scan once a week, you can greatly improve the performance of your PC.

  2. Step 2

Run antivirus software: You can find free AVG through download.com. This will often times get you out of your jam. If these don't work, don't fret. You are just getting started. This will pick up trojans and other viruses that can wreak havoc on your computer. Make sure this is set up to run once a day.

  3. Step 3

There is a another great software title that has helped me out at times. It is called Glary Utilities. It will repair many broken registry items and other items that can go wrong. Give it a shot.
