Ball pits are a classic toy for toddlers and babies. Unlike other toys, an inflatable ball pit appeals to one-year-olds and four-year-olds alike. Here is a guide to help you choose the best inflatable ball pit for your kids.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Material. Most inflatable ball pits are made from a heavy duty plastic material that can withstand jumping and other abusive forces your kids will inflict. When shopping for inflatable ball pits, consider looking for a material that is UV resistant if you plan on using your ball pit outdoors. This will extend the life of the ball pit and keep the color bright to provide years of enjoyment.

  2. Step 2

Size. If you are going to be using the inflatable ball pit for babies, it is best to get a relatively small ball pit. Babies can get overwhelmed if placed in a huge sea of balls and will panic. Look for an inflatable ball pit about the size of a baby pool. For toddlers and older kids, they usually feel that bigger is better.

  3. Step 3

For toddlers, look into inflatable ball pits that provoke games or activities. For example, some inflatable ball pits have basketball goals, football field goals, or ramps to rolls the balls through. Toddlers will love these activities.

Before you purchase an inflatable ball pit, check to see if it comes with any ball pit balls. Many ball pits come with 100 plastic ball pit balls, however parents usually end up purchasing an additional 100 or 200 balls to fill more than just the bottom of the ball pit.
