Step 1
Expand your vocabulary. Use more eloquent words. (i.e., thoroughly, exceptionally, unpleasant) Refer to the "Edward Quotes" link below for more ideas.
-
Step 2
Pay close attention. Edward hears people's minds, so you'll need to be exceptionally observant. Notice what people do between classes and pay attention to see if everyone's words match their actions. (Like if the blond in math class claims to be the best friend of the head cheerleader, but you see blondie kissing cheerleader's boyfriend - there's something wrong there.)
-
Step 3
Be trustworthy. You're paying attention, so you know things other people don't mean for you to. The trick is to still be gentleman enough to keep these secrets. (Esme refers to Edward as a gentleman for keeping Rosalie's secret about why she is angry that Edward loves Bella.)
-
Step 4
Excel at all your classes. In Twilight, Edward hears teachers referring to his family as "the perfect Cullens" and Alice told Bella that to be a Cullen is to be responsible. Learn the material and do the homework. No need to be bogged down with un-needed failure.
-
Step 5
Be more elusive. You lose your mystery if you are at every party, in the center of every school event and are always at the most popular lunch table. Sit alone. Read a book at lunch. Stop caring about what people think.
-
Step 6
Be polite. Be chivalrous. Be charming. Open doors (car doors, too) for women. Help them take off their coats and take their hand to steady them as they walk down steps. Pull out their chairs for them to sit at tables and stand slightly when they enter or leave the room.
-
Step 7
Be confident. Remember that not everyone will respond to you in the same way and, of course, people will tell you how they think you ought to be. Nod politely, keep your charm, but the good news is - you don't care. You know who you are and what works for you. It's almost amusing that other people think they actually know you better than you do.
