Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Select baby lettuce
  • Carrots
  • Ginger vinaigrette
  • Herbs
  1. Step 1

This is a soft salad using delicate ingredients. You will have to prepare it fresh as the ingredients do not store well. Go to the local produce market or grocery store to get the ingredients. Wash all your ingredients in cool water first.

  2. Step 2

For lettuce, use Lola Rosa and Tango. They give color and an endive flavor. Shred 1/2 of a carrot into strips about 3 inches long x 1 cm.

  3. Step 3

Chop about 3 sprigs of each herb: basil, cilantro, chives. Now add the herbs to the lettuce leaves and carrot shreds. Then add a finger tip full of sprouts.

  4. Step 4

To make your own dressing, just mix one cup vegetable oil and one root shredded ginger in a blender, add a teaspoon of sugar and tablespoon of soy sauce to taste. You can add a tablespoon of brown sugar to thicken the dressing if you don't mind it being sweet. Add 1/2 teaspoon of sesame oil if you want, as well.

  5. Step 5

Mix salad with ginger dressing and top with a sprinkling of sesame seeds and your done.

Tips & Warnings
  • Only use fresh ingredients.
  • You can make your own dressing easily or buy it premade.
