How to Remove Bubble Alerts in Windows XP

1. Click Start>Run. Type "regedit" without the quotes.

2. Navigate to the following folder:
   HKEY_CURRENT_USER>Software>Microsoft>Windows>CurrentVersion>Explorer>Advanced

3. Right-click the right window pane and select New>DWORD VALUE. Name the value EnableBalloonTips.

4. Double-click EnableBalloonTips. Type 0 in the value box.

5. Close the registry editor and restart Windows for the changes to take effect.

• Back up your computer registry. Deleting or modifying any entries in the registry can cause your computer to work incorrectly.
