Honey baked hams just need to be reheated.

Honey baked ham is one of the most tender hams you can buy. What is great about this ham is that it is already perfectly seasoned. All ham, including honey baked ham, is cooked before it is sold in stores. Therefore, it is only necessary that you heat the honey baked ham up before serving it. • 1

Slice off a piece of ham and place it on a microwave-safe plate. This option works best if you are only planning to feed yourself.

    • 2

Place the plate in the microwave. Turn the microwave on high and choose one minute and thirty seconds. Start the microwave and remove the ham when it beeps. Cut the ham up and eat immediately.

    • 3

Place a whole honey baked ham in a cooking bag and add 8 oz. of chicken broth if you plan to reheat the entire ham. You can use a whole can of chicken broth if your ham is on the larger side. Tie shut.

    • 4

Place the cooking bag in an aluminum pan.

    • 5

Poke some holes in the top of the cooking bag with a kitchen knife.

    • 6

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees.

    • 7

Insert the honey baked ham in to the oven. It will take 10 minutes per pound of ham to completely heat the honey baked ham up. Spiral-cut hams and uncut hams take the same amount of time to heat through.

    • 8

Remove from the oven and serve warm.

Tips & Warnings

  • Some meat shops recommend that you heat your ham to room temperature and eat it that way.

  • If you don't have any chicken broth, you can use apple juice instead.
